为什么花名叫四海
这个花名的由来很简单——因为我的人生轨迹，就是不断跨越海洋的故事。
大学毕业之后，我去了加拿大留学。那是一次单程的跨越，从亚洲到北美，第一次越过太平洋。
在加拿大待了八年，中间还去欧洲待了半年。后来决定回国，这是第二次跨越太平洋。
但故事没有结束——回国之后，因为工作需要又去过几次海外，前后加起来，我的人生轨迹上至少越过四次大海。
所以“四海”这个名字，不是取自“四海为家”的豪迈，而是来自真实的地理轨迹：
- 第一次：中国 → 加拿大（留学）
- 第二次：加拿大 → 欧洲（短暂停留）
- 第三次：欧洲 → 加拿大（继续工作）
- 第四次：加拿大 → 中国（回国）
每一次跨越大海，都是一次人生的转折。这个名字记录的是那些飞在万米高空、看着窗外无尽海洋的时刻——不知道未来会怎样，但知道自己在往前走。
现在回头看，“四海”更像是个隐喻：不是四海为家，而是四海为路。每一次跨越都不是终点，而是通向下一段旅程的起点。
Why the Name “Sihai” (Four Seas)
The origin of this name is simple — my life story is one of crossing oceans, again and again.
After graduating from university, I went to Canada to study abroad. That was a one-way journey, from Asia to North America — my first time crossing the Pacific.
I stayed in Canada for eight years, with a half-year stint in Europe in between. When I decided to return to China, that was my second Pacific crossing.
But the story didn’t end there — after returning home, work took me overseas several more times. All told, my life path has crossed the ocean at least four times.
So the name “Sihai” (Four Seas) isn’t taken from the romantic notion of “making the world your home.” It comes from real geography:
- First crossing: China → Canada (study abroad)
- Second crossing: Canada → Europe (brief stay)
- Third crossing: Europe → Canada (continued working)
- Fourth crossing: Canada → China (returning home)
Each ocean crossing marked a turning point in life. This name captures those moments — flying at 30,000 feet, gazing out at endless ocean, not knowing what the future holds, but knowing you’re moving forward.
Looking back now, “Sihai” feels more like a metaphor: not “making the world your home,” but “making the oceans your path.” Every crossing was never the destination — it was always the start of the next journey.
